Every device in the catalogue carries one of three condition grades. The grade summarises the cosmetic and functional state recorded for that device. It is a description of that unit, not a certificate.
A
Grade A
Looks barely used.
Screen
No scratches or marks visible under normal room light.
Body
At most faint traces on the frame that are not visible at arm’s length. No dents, no chips.
Function
All functions in the check list below working as recorded for the unit.
B
Grade B
Light, honest signs of use.
Screen
Fine scratches that are not visible when the display is on.
Body
Visible but shallow marks on the frame or the back. No dents that affect how the device sits or feels.
Function
All functions in the check list below working as recorded for the unit.
C
Grade C
Clear signs of use, fully working.
Screen
Visible scratches or small marks; the display itself works fully and has no dead pixels.
Body
Obvious wear such as scuffs, small dents or chips on the frame or back.
Function
All functions in the check list below working as recorded for the unit. Cosmetic wear is the only difference from the grades above.
What is checked
The check list below is applied to a unit before its record is written. The results belong to that unit only.
DisplayTouch tested edge to edge, brightness from lowest to highest, dead or stuck pixels, True Tone on models that have it.
Buttons and portsPower, volume and mute controls; charging port; SIM tray on cellular models.
Cameras and sensorsFront and rear cameras, flash, the Touch ID or Face ID sensor (whichever the model has), ambient light and proximity sensors.
AudioSpeakers, microphones and vibration motor.
WirelessWi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular connection on models that have it.
BatteryThe battery health reading from the device is recorded at the time of listing.
Identity and locksActivation Lock is confirmed removed; storage capacity and model match the listing.
Battery information
Battery health belongs to one item. We read it during inspection and put it in the quotation for that item; a variant page never shows it, because it would wrongly suggest every item of the model is the same.
Because battery wear differs from unit to unit, a reading from one device is never used to describe another, even for the same model and colour.
What a grade does not tell you
Variant pages describe a model, not an item, so they show no grade. Grade, notes on marks and battery reading are attached to the item we quote, and are never carried over from one item to the next.
The grades follow INNOVAPATHYE’s internal grading scheme for used electronics and describe cosmetic and functional condition only. They say nothing about delivery, returns or the legal guarantee, which are set out in the policies.
